Scatter Monsters by Quickspin lets loose a horde of red demons and monsters on a square grid. Wins count anywhere on the field once enough matching symbols land, and collected energy levels up the features one step at a time.
The theme is simple and loud: bright red creatures from hell, horned and toothy demons, with a glowing underworld behind them. Six reels with six rows each make up the 6×6 grid. Bet sizes span €0.20 at the bottom to €100 at the upper end. Quickspin released Scatter Monsters on January 10, 2023.
Game rules
Scatter Monsters has no paylines. It pays on the scatter principle: land enough matching symbols anywhere among the 6×6 positions and you win, whatever their position. The more matching symbols come together, the higher the payout, which also scales with whatever you wager in the €0.20–€100 band. Wilds count as regular symbols and so raise the number of matching pictures on the field.

The core is the energy collection: energy symbols fill a meter, and each level reached upgrades a feature. One of those features is the symbol swap, which turns symbols on the grid into another symbol and builds bigger groups of matching pictures. Another removes symbols, taking certain pictures off the field so the rest match up more often.
These mechanics stay active in the free spins, and additional free spins can extend the round. Because the levels grow with the energy, Scatter Monsters gets noticeably stronger as the round goes on.
Since extra rounds can extend the free spins of Scatter Monsters, set it against other inferno slots with free spins.
RTP, max win & volatility
RTP 94.19%, lower than 88% of the 400 Inferno slots. Background: how RTP works on a slot. Volatility Medium, like 54 of the 180 slots in the Hell & devil theme. Background: what slot volatility means. Max win 1,470× (€147,000 at the highest stake). Background: what max win means on a slot.
Topping out at 1,470×, it only clears about 19% of the underworld catalogue, so the ceiling is low. Volatility is medium, meaning wins come at a balanced pace and the game is not built around rare huge hits.
Because Quickspin publishes an RTP range for Scatter Monsters and even the highest figure sits near the back of the field, the comparison of inferno slots ranked by RTP is useful.
Note: Scatter Monsters exists in several RTP versions.
