Black Wukong — RTP, volatility and max win

Black Wukong by CQ9 Gaming turns the Monkey King of Chinese legend into a grim warrior who takes his staff to demons, monsters and rat creatures. Scatters lead into free spins that more scatters can extend, and additive symbols add their values to wins.

Black Wukong was released on December 30, 2024 and tells the Monkey King story in red, green and black, with weapons, demons and rats as his opponents. Card suits fill the remaining positions. Spins cover 243 ways across 5×3 reels; at €0.60 the minimum bet is higher than on many other slots, and the maximum reaches €150.

High volatility paired with a max win right at the centre of the field is unusual; inferno slots by volatility shows how Black Wukong compares.

There are no fixed lines: matching symbols pay once they cover consecutive reels starting with reel one, in any row. Five reels with three rows give 243 ways. Several matching symbols on one reel multiply the hit, since each combination counts separately. Wilds fill gaps in these chains, and scatters count anywhere on the grid.

Free spins: they are triggered by landing enough scatters. More scatters during the round add extra spins, so the round can run for quite a while.

Additive symbols: these symbols add their value to the win rather than multiplying it, and several of them on one spin stack up.

Wild: the wild helps complete chains across all five reels and does most of the work for base-game hits.

Since extra scatters can lengthen the bonus round of Black Wukong, line it up against other inferno slots with free spins and how they are triggered.

RTP 95.97%, lower than 53% of the 400 Inferno slots. Background: how RTP works on a slot. Volatility High, like 66 of the 114 slots in the Demon theme. Background: what slot volatility means. Max win 5,000× (€750,000 at the highest stake). Background: what max win means on a slot.

An RTP of 95.97% leaves Black Wukong just below the midpoint of the Inferno slots, with around 46% of the games lower.

The top payout of 5,000× lands right in the middle, with 51% of the slots reaching less. Volatility runs high because of the extendable free spins, where additive symbols can build up over many spins.

With an RTP just under the median, Black Wukong sits among many games with almost the same value in the RTP comparison of inferno slots.
