Highway to Hell Deluxe — RTP, volatility and max win
Highway to Hell Deluxe sends bikers and the devil down the highway to hell and relies on a mega symbol block, expanding symbols and adjustable volatility. Highway to Hell Deluxe by Wazdan sends bikers, motorcycles and a grinning devil with his imps down the highway to hell, all in red and yellow. A mega symbol covering a three by three block can fill half the screen with a single icon.
The look of Highway to Hell Deluxe mixes biker culture with hellfire: motorcycles, cars and riders share the reels with the devil and an imp, while flames and yellow highlights set the mood. It plays on 5 paylines, a lean setup where every oversized symbol touches several lines at once. The minimum stake is €0.10, so small budgets can play too. Wazdan released the Deluxe edition on July 13, 2018 as a remake of the original Highway to Hell.
Game rules
5 paylines cross the grid starting at the leftmost reel. A line pays once enough matching symbols sit next to each other on it. Only the highest win per line pays, and wins on different lines are added together. With so few lines, what matters most is how many positions one icon covers at once, which is exactly where the mega symbol and expanding symbols come in. The in-game paytable lists what each symbol is worth.

The centrepiece is the mega symbol: one icon lands as a large block across three reels and three rows and covers several lines in one go. If a matching single symbol lands next to it, several of the 5 paylines can pay at the same time.
Expanding symbols stretch over their whole reel and close gaps on the lines. The wild completes combinations, and a multiplier boosts selected wins.
After any win you can take the gamble to double the amount or lose it. Typical for Wazdan is the adjustable volatility: before you spin, you choose whether the slot runs calmer or swingier.
Because expanding symbols team up with the mega symbol to fill whole reels here, inferno slots with expanding symbols gathers other hell titles built on the same mechanic.
RTP, max win & volatility
RTP 96.56%, higher than 90% of the 400 Inferno slots. Background: how RTP works on a slot. Volatility Adjustable, like 2 of the 180 slots in the Hell & devil theme. Background: what slot volatility means. Max win 1,000×. Background: what max win means on a slot.
Highway to Hell Deluxe returns 96.56%, and you set the volatility yourself, which makes it more flexible than most hell-themed slots locked to one level.
Its 1,000× biggest prize is on the modest side, and only about 11% of the collection is capped lower. If you are chasing very high multipliers, the devil theme has titles with far more headroom.
Since Highway to Hell Deluxe ships with an RTP range rather than one fixed value, the RTP comparison of inferno slots shows where inferno slots sit and which levels casinos actually run.
Note: Highway to Hell Deluxe exists in several RTP versions.
Versions
| Version | RTP | Volatility | Max win |
|---|---|---|---|
| Highway to Hell | 96.18% | Low-medium | 2,500× |
| Highway to Hell Deluxe | 96.56% | Adjustable | 1,000× |
The table puts the original Highway to Hell next to the Deluxe edition. The original runs at a fixed, fairly calm volatility with a higher win cap, while Deluxe pays back a little more and lets you pick the volatility. Artwork and the biker theme are the same in both.
Because the Deluxe edition is built on the original, the Highway to Hell slot family shows both releases with their differences in volatility and max win.
