Dio Killing The Dragon — RTP, volatility and max win

Dio Killing The Dragon is Play'n GO's licensed slot for the heavy metal band Dio: dragons, demons and a wolf take on the card-suit symbols in black and violet. Wilds walk one reel further with each respin, and in the free spins they stick.

Dio Killing The Dragon was released on October 6, 2022 and moves the band's world into a dark fantasy setting with rock music behind it. The dragon, demon and wolf set the tone, and the card suits round out the symbol set. Dragons and demons fill 5×3 reels with 243 ways, and you can play for €0.10 or for as much as €100 per round.

There are no fixed lines: matching symbols pay as soon as they appear reel after reel from the first reel onwards, in any row, which gives 243 ways. If a reel holds several matching symbols, every combination counts separately. Wilds complete these chains, and scatters count wherever they land.

Walking wilds with respins: when a wild lands, it triggers a respin and moves one reel along. As long as a wild stays on the grid, the run continues.

Symbol switch: certain symbols are swapped for others during the round to form extra wins.

Free spins with sticky wilds: the round opens on enough scatters. There, wilds stay put, a multiplier boosts wins, and more scatters add extra spins. Most of the win potential sits in this round.

Since every wild in Dio Killing The Dragon triggers a respin and keeps moving, a look at other inferno slots with respins shows how that mechanic varies.

RTP 94.25%. Background: how RTP works on a slot. Volatility High, like 66 of the 114 slots in the Demon theme. Background: what slot volatility means. Max win 15,000× (€1,500,000 at the highest stake). Background: what max win means on a slot.

Dio Killing The Dragon returns 94.25%, low enough for the bottom fifth of the Inferno slots.

Its ceiling of 15,000× tells the opposite story: around 87% of the slots reach less, which puts it in the upper fifth. High volatility follows from that contrast, as sticky wilds and the free spins multiplier carry the big amounts.

Play'n GO lets casinos choose the payout setting of Dio Killing The Dragon from a band, and even the highest value is low; the inferno slots ranked by RTP make the gap to the rest of the field visible.
