Dark Ritual — RTP, volatility and max win

Dark Ritual by Advant Play shows a sinister voodoo ritual of candles, blood, a chalice, a spell book and skulls, watched over by the devil and his demons. Winning symbols vanish after every hit and new ones drop in, so a single spin can string several wins together.

The look of Dark Ritual is black magic: candles, a chalice, an old book, hearts, weapons and skulls lie on an altar, blood red and deep darkness set the mood, and the devil and demons make up the premium symbols. The grid is 5×5 with 3,125 ways, a large square field without fixed lines. With bets starting at €0.10 and capped at €10, the maximum is lower than in many titles with similar potential. Advant Play released the slot on April 26, 2024.

The 3,125 ways reward matching symbols on adjacent reels, starting with the leftmost, in any row. On a 5×5 grid, every extra copy of a symbol on a reel adds more combinations. After each win the symbols involved disappear, new ones drop in from above, and the grid is checked again until no further win forms.

Cascades carry the base game: every win clears space and can set off a chain of further hits, with the wild filling gaps in the ways.

In the free spins, started by scatters, a multiplier lifts the wins. More scatters during the round add extra free spins. Dedicated bonus icons also open a separate bonus game away from the reels.

The bonus bet raises your stake per spin to improve the odds of reaching the free spins, and the buy option starts the round straight away.

Because Dark Ritual counts thousands of ways from the leftmost reel instead of fixed lines, inferno slots with ways to win include titles built on the same principle.

RTP 97.09%, higher than 96% of the 400 Inferno slots. Background: how RTP works on a slot. Volatility High, like 85 of the 180 slots in the Hell & devil theme. Background: what slot volatility means. Max win 20,000× (€200,000 at the highest stake). Background: what max win means on a slot.

Dark Ritual returns 97.09%, near the very upper end of the inferno slots. Its high volatility fits the design, as the big wins only build up through cascade chains and free spins with the multiplier.

Generous too is the 20,000× cap, higher than about 92% of inferno releases. A high RTP and a high cap together are a rare pairing in the hell theme.

Since Dark Ritual sits near the very upper end for RTP, the list of inferno slots ranked by RTP shows the few hell titles that pay back even more.
