Leander Games sets Afterlife Inferno in the afterlife: heaven faces hell, flames meet ice, and mystic, legendary imagery fills the gaps. When an expanding wild lands, it covers its reel and triggers a re-spin.
Afterlife Inferno came out on May 25, 2018 from Leander Games. The 5×3 reel window, five reels of three rows each, holds 20 paylines. The artwork splits the afterlife in two: fire and hell on one side, heaven and ice on the other, framed by mystic symbols drawn from myth and legend. Small test rounds start at €0.20, and bigger bets reach €20.
Game rules
Afterlife Inferno pays across 20 paylines that run in fixed patterns over the 5×3 grid. Each of those lines pays when identical symbols follow each other from the leftmost reel. Wilds fill gaps in a line, and an expanding wild covers all three positions on its reel at once. Scatters sit outside the lines: they open the free spins, which play on the same grid as the base game.

Outside the bonus, the expanding wild does most of the work. It grows to fill the whole reel and grants a re-spin with that reel held in place, so more lines can connect through it. Sticky wilds stay put for several spins, stretching the value of a single hit.
The free spins come from scatters. Before they start you pick a free spins mode yourself, playing on the heaven and hell split. During the free spins a multiplier boosts the wins, and Leander Games lists a separate multiplier outside the bonus as well.
Because a multiplier lifts the wins during the free spins, the game belongs with the inferno slots with multipliers, where more titles share this mechanic.
RTP, max win & volatility
RTP 94.29%, lower than 83% of the 400 Inferno slots. Background: how RTP works on a slot. Volatility High, like 85 of the 180 slots in the Hell & devil theme. Background: what slot volatility means. Max win 10,000× (€200,000 at the highest stake). Background: what max win means on a slot.
Its return of 94.29% keeps Afterlife Inferno towards the bottom of the inferno catalogue. The biggest prize looks better: 10,000× is more than about 75% of the catalogue offers.
The high volatility fits the design, because the biggest wins come from sticky wilds, expanding wilds and the free spins multiplier working together.
Casinos run Afterlife Inferno at more than one RTP level, and RTP of inferno slots shows which other titles come in different settings too.
